Welcome to Mrs. Muehlmatt's Webpage!The ART curriculum at the middle school level is designed to round out the student's education. The management style encourages students to work together and solve problems creatively.Students have the opportunity to take Art once in 7th and/or 8th grade.=====
7th Grade Art=====
The system which one uses to create a functional piece of ceramic-ware from a handful of wet clay, is given as much attention as the design and construction of the piece itself, in this course. Moreover, the elements and principles of design are analyzed and applied as varied 2-Dimensional works.====
8th Grade Art====
World-wide Cultures are researched and used as a source of inspiration for a variety of 2 and 3-Dimensional projects. Drawing and painting skills and techniques are expanded upon in this class. Media exploration is a main focus in grade 8.
Penn's Grove Club PositiveClub Positive meets every "E" day in the Art room. Under the guidance of Mrs. Muehlmatt, students put their artistic skills to work creating visuals that emphasize ideas that we, at Penn's Grove, hold in high esteem: that Power comes from having and showing Respect for all, Integrity to guide decision-making, the Dependability that others can count on and Empathy for others. This club is one of a few that are offered to all 7th and 8th grade students. Applications can be found outside room 244 and given to Mrs Muehlmatt by Tuesday, 9/15/15.Club Positive wants YOU!
General InformationFollowing ample class time devoted to each art assignment and a due date, a "grace period" is given to students to allow extra time if needed for finishing an assignment. Generally, the "grace period" is a week, after which students will loose 10 points per day for lateness, but never go below 55, as long as the work is completed and turned in. Students are expected to bring a pencil and their best behavior to Art class. :)Log in to Power School to view lesson info and working/due dates. Enter via School District Website.
